True Product History

We want to retain the flexibility for most users to add and update product information. However, it is essential that we are able to trace the source of incorrect data, so that we can provide proper training and ensure that users enter the correct information.
Incorrect product information can lead to the wrong items being ordered, which may cause delays, increased costs, and unnecessary frustration. For this reason, we need a function that helps us identify who has made changes to product data. This will allow us to address mistakes efficiently and maintain the accuracy of our product catalog.

It's been a few years since this was first requested, would like to see it implemented.

I raised the same thing with another post. Dtools focus on the big integrations, not the easy stuff.

I would love ALL of the information. Why not just have a history like we have with projects? Thanks!

I just logged in to add this exact request, and I'm so glad it's already been mentioned. DTools, PLEASE add this feature ASAP!

100% agree on this! We need it! This should be a high priority item.

A full audit log would be ideal. This could actually be a project audit log much akin to the existing history, it just needs item changes added to it and filtering. Then some nice UI to see it for an item and have it autofilter.
Same for catalog.
This way there aren't many separate logs, just a log for the catalog and for each project.

Replying to my own comment, now narcissistic of me!
If the audit log was done right... it could enable, wait for it, UNDO!

Agreed, This costs so much time when people who mess up a product in the catalog. I would like to be able to know who needs more training or who needs permissions revoked.

I would actually like to expand this to better logging for everything. Who changes what on what projects, products and such. Storage is practically free, store the history with the project or products.
