Submittals

I agree - I have manually created this feature with custom fields AND URL's. I have the datasheets (and manuals) for each product saved on an external website we own under our part numbers. When we run a custom report, it prints out all the URL's for the products in the jobs. It would be neat if they were just attached to the product item itself.

Yes Add them to a submittal Package or Folder
Upon Award of the Project it would be nice for the assigned PM to be able to open a form and check or uncheck a box for all the products in the project to be combined into a single PDF and saved in the project somewhere to be Printed or email to the customer. Not all products in a project will require a submittal-

Kevin What exactly would you do with the data sheets after adding to a project? Do you want to add them to a "Submittal Package" in a folder or something for delivery? Do you want to combine them into a single PDF file for delivery? something else?

Kevin Frye: The way this process works for us in new construction is that when a project is approved, the general contractor asks for a submittal package which is mainly just the datasheets (PDF) for the product. They submit it to the city for approval and keep it on file to give to the building owner (end user) after the project is complete. We usually create a title page, table of contents, and then all datasheets follow.
In SI, it would be cool if a report could be generated that would take all PDF's and combine them into a single document.
