Seth: This doesn't check items against the discontinued or approved columns, just Cost and whether its in the catalog, right?

The link above is for the settings related specifically to the comparison that takes place on project editor open which checks for, based on your preferences: Pricing Differences, Unapproved, Discontinued, Not in Catalog. Need a better way of handling discontinued products. Ability to replace all usages of a product on projects/quotes. Should be able to replace all usages of a product, not just show where it has been used. Also send a notification to salesperson, that a product has been discontinued on a project and needs resubmited to customer.

Discontinued products impact PO's to vendors when not caught as well. Some kind of error message would be helpful.

I 100% agree with needing the ability to replace all usages of a product, or have the option to choose which projects to update. I would love to be able to make this update from the product catalog (much like I can update the product catalog from project editor). Maybe for any projects that aren't updated, get an error or warning message about the discontinued product?
