Expiration date in the catalog for promotional items

the spcific case that I was thinking of is the Kaleidescape promotional package SKUs. Those SKUs actually expire. The ability ro temporarily forc an item to a diffferent price type is a great idea.

Maybe there could be a checkbox for "Promotional" along with an expiration date for the price and it would temporarily set the price to a configured "Price Type" which you already utilize. When the product is added to the proposal with the promotional box checked with date it would utilized the configured "Price Type" for just that item. After the date passes both the item in the proposal and the item in the database would automatically uncheck the promotional price box and it would go back to the normal price type.
Just a thought of how it could work. We normally don't use promotional pricing because the chance of a project signing and being installed in the (generally) 2 month promotion is slim to none.

IDK about whole item expiry for our Org, but promotional pricing expiry would be rad. Promotional pricing is something that can be diffucult to manage. If a temp price can be set to a catalog item the expires on a certain date that would then return the OG price would be amazing. Especially if the proposal PDF could show the price expiry date on the item in the BOM.

William Hipp What exactly is a promotional item?

Kevin Frye I find these mostly for TVs. Manufacturers will advertise a $200 discount on the standard dealer pricing until then end of March or something similar.
