Internal CO modifies price

Kevin Frye - we sometimes find that we need to substitute products due to unavailability of equipment. It would be useful within the internal change order to 'swap' product A for product B for example, without it affecting the price in the proposal.

Rory Hackett: The post and prior comments are from 2019. Change Orders have received a few enhancements since then. If you have an approved project, use the "Replace" feature. When replacing the item, look at the options in the dialog box. You can choose to Maintain Installation Price. You can also choose to maintain accessories. This effectively swaps existing accessories from the old item to the new item. In the end, you are left with a zero dollar change order. Note there is also a setting automatically mark items added to an internal CO as non-billable. This also helps maintain a zero dollar change. Finally, if you need to delete an item on an internal CO, this will show is being a negative value. When approving the CO, you have an option to maintain the installation price of the deleted item in a Placeholder. This allows you to keep the value and not change the contract price. I hope this helps.

Jimmy, how do you expect to remove a part and not change the price? Any ideas for us on this?
I have solved this issue in a few ways:
- Instead of removing the item, mark it as "Do Not Order".
- Add an item to your Catalog called "Equipment Allowance" and use the Replace feature, choosing the option "Maintain Installation Price".
- Maybe you should treat this as an external change order.
