Component ID not working anymore

Turns out that something changed in the way the component ID was updating. We reset the defaults and it works as expected again.

We are having the same problem. It seems to affect all our projects. Regenerating component IDs in existing projects eliminates the prefixes as well. I noticed this a few weeks (or more) ago but I was too busy to look into it.

Greg Priest: Try and send us a project where we can replicate this. Export project and create a support ticket and refer this Canny post and ask them to send it to dev.

Stephen Michaux - Make sure Component ID settings are set correctly in project in addition to Settings also.
Can you create a support case with a project with this issue also and refer this thread?

Naresh Nichani: We did that. It still exhibits the same behavior. It seems to be unique to a single project at the moment, but it is an odd one. Perhaps because the project is huge.

We have our component IDs set properly in settings. When we add new product, it only assigns the digits and not the prefix. This happens for all products entered. It happens for all users in our organization. I have checked the settings and the problem persists. This started recently. We are having to manually assign prefixes to the numbers, and it is frustrating. We are hosted solution of SI.

I tested Subcategory Prefix and Name in Component ID for Products. It works perfectly. Can you provide further details?
